Topaz Daddy here. I'm taking over the blog while Frances is busy with hourly feedings. (Our new little guy is a hungry one.) Yes, you might have heard (especially if you follow my wife on Twitter) we just had a baby.
Here's Frances on May 11, at approximately 230am. Zero sleep. Labor began at midnight and it was fast and painful. This picture was taken at the hospital before the worst of the pain.
And before we knew it, the baby was out. Just two hours later, at 450am. I literally walked into the delivery room, found a spot to stand in, and then took this picture.
One push! That's all it took.
Iñigo Julian Amper Sales. Like with our first son Vito, the criteria for naming the baby was to give him a unique name that could stand on its own. We also wanted a real name with some history. (We are actually quite conservative.) That led us to some names that are out of circulation, and we settled on Iñigo.
Iñigo is a variation of Ignacio and comes from the Latin "ignis," which means "to ignite." We want him to set the world on fire.Julian (pronounced with an "H" sound) is the name of Frances's grandfather.
My favorite people in the world. Vito is actually very sweet to his bro, even though he is poking Iñigo in the face in this picture.

Frances! Congratulations! I can't believe I'm not following you yet on Twitter. I will now! He is adorable! You are blessed with wonderful men in your life!
ReplyDeleteAnd may I just say, grabe ang dali ng both deliveries mo ha! I admire you! I wish I had been more active like you so I could have given birth easily but fate has it, CS talaga.
Again congratulations to the both of you! Beautiful name Iñigo! You're making me want another baby! Hahaha ;)
Apparently, I'm a baby-making machine, said my OBG. My hips, though tiny, are cavernous naman so it's easy for me to carry and push out babies.
DeleteThanks for the warm wishes!
Congratulations Daddy Vince and Mommy Frances!:)
ReplyDeleteJust one push? I thought mabilis na yung 5 pushes mo with Vito but you can do it pa pala in 1 push. WOW.
Iñigo is such a cutie, just like his brother. I'm looking forward to reading more about him and Vito.:)
Rest well,God Bless and Belated Happy Mothers' Day!
Pag second baby daw, mas mabilis. So hindi na ako magpapangatlo. Baka biglang lumabas yung baby nang di ko namalayan LOL
DeleteThanks for the update, Vince a.k.a. Topaz Daddy! I've been eagerly waiting for a family photo, and see Vito's reaction to Iñigo. His face is scrunched up in one of the photos! Haha, so precious. :) And because you and Frances are both writers, you've come up with very good unique names. :)
ReplyDeleteOh those names are old old names. We take no credit for their names =) And we got them from books and movies we like and from our grandparents.
DeleteCongratulations Ms Frances for another cute little baby like Vito, a really special gift for your Mother's Day! God Bless you more :)

ReplyDeleteHehe, ya, Vito likes poking his brother's face =)
Deletewow congratulations! he's a cutie :) im so amazed at how you can already sit down right after giving birth!
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed, too. Haha. I really starts walking around and sitting as soon as I can, even if mahirap. That's usually around 6 hours after birth. I think kasi my body will heal faster when my blood circulates and my muscles get exercised =)
DeleteOMG!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your family Topaz Daddy. Vito is so cute!! :) More blessings to the family. :-*
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Great looking family! :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Frances, Vince and Vito! God bless you more!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the Topaz family... Iñigo is so cute just like his big brother Vito. Glad you delivered your baby safely. Iñigo's birthday and my wedding anniversary fall on the same date :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I'm 7 months pregnant with my first child. I hope my delivery will be as fast and easy as yours. Frances did you have an epidural? Was Dra. Singson there during your delivery or was it a different OB who attended to you? Would you mind letting us know how much your delivery cost? Is it more expensive now compared to when you gave birth to Vito? I would appreciate if you could give details regarding your labor and delivery. Trying to get as much info as I can. Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I had an epidural because the pain was intense! But the epid I was given was mild lang (meron pa lang ganun) so I still felt everything, but duller.
DeleteYes, Dra. Singson was there. She was also there with my first birth. I know that this is an issue with a lot of moms--their OBG disappearing on D-Day! Thank goodness it never happened with me and my OBG!
My normal delivery this time was waaaaaay cheaper. With Vito, it was around 120K. But that's because I stayed in the high-risk maternity unit for, as it turned out, no reason at all. With Inigo, we paid about 85K lang.
I wish you a safe and fast delivery, too! Congratulations =D
Thanks for the quick reply Frances :) I appreciate it. 85k seems like a reasonable price considering that you gave birth at SLMCGC. Does the 85k already include Dra. Singson's professional fee? What kind of room did you get? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get an idea what the rates are. I hope you don't mind.
ReplyDeleteI'm praying for a normal, fast and easy delivery. It's my first child so I am terrified but all the info I've been getting from your blog has been very helpful especially when you recently gave us the lowdown of what happened when you gave birth to Vito. I've been reading books but none of them were as brutally honest as you :)
